Our Policies
In no particular order.
-
We will not discuss casting decisions with parents or family members.
-
We have a zero tolerance for bullying policy. If a student is showing a pattern of unkind behaviour they will be told to leave with no refund.
-
No food in the theatre and no drinks except water.
-
No parents in the audience for classes, it really does throw our other students off.
-
No parents or friends backstage unless previously agreed upon. All of our staff and volunteers have to submit to a vulnerable sector record check, we are very protective of your children.
-
Zero tolerance for homophobia or transphobia, ditto to racism, or any form of hate.
-
We are extremely lucky to have the access that we do to the Capitol theatre, any student(s) that damage the property or who are repeatedly careless or destructive will no longer be welcome in our program.
-
Admissions. Any child can enter our introductory class, no audition necessary. Our intermediate class requires an audition and we would suggest students entering this class be around 9-10 years old. Our Company students must audition every year. For those students wishing to enter the Company class: If you have been in the intermediate class or the Company and are 12+ you may audition. If you have not been in Company Two you must be at least 14 years old to audition. An audition does not guarantee admission.
-
Students who are chronically absent or late may be asked to leave the program.
-
Students are not allowed to leave the theatre in the middle of a performance unless it is an emergency.
-
Students who are unable to follow the expectations of their respective classes may not be welcome back the following year.
